A Gilded Flicker minding its own business is pestered by a smaller bird. Filmed in the aviary at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum with a Casio EX-FH20 in slow motion. Music by Kevin MacLeod.

Footage captured at Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum with Casio EX-FH20 in slow motion (210 fps). At first a female Cardinal tries to pick up a Barrel Cactus fruit that’s larger than her head, but something spooks her away. A male gives it a go, but even though he’s persistent, the cactus fruit is pretty much intact when he finally gives up. Music by Kevin MacLeod.

Colorful Fliers were the focus for our 4th photography theme week over on our Facebook page. These were the images loaded daily over the past week.
The daily theme week posts came to an end today, but we’ll continue to sporadically post photography over on our Facebook page.
For those that want more videos, we have quite a few in the planning stages. Look out for a Broadbill hummingbird video in the next few days. Thanks for stopping by our blog!

Since it’s so hot and humid in Tucson, we have been indoors reviewing our video and photographs taken over the last few months. It is always a pleasant surprise to discover footage that is just so darned cute. This little critter clip is just that–cute.
ABOUT THE CRITTERS ON THE VIDEO
For some reason the mammals at Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum were acting strange while we were there. Hmmmm. . . .is that a comment on our presence? Anyway, their actions made for some great video.
The Black-tailed Prairie Dog was licking the glass almost like it was sprayed with some good tasting stuff. It was by chance we got footage of a Coati in the tree. It is hard to even find a Coati in the enclosure, never the less find one in a tree. The River Otter is always a delight to watch because of her playfulness. Speaking of playfulness, the Raccoon is the winner. And the Harris’ antelope Squirrel must has been bored enough to play patty cake with Larry.
While at Sweetwater Wetlands, the water reclamation project of Tucson AZ, we were thrilled to capture the Red Shouldered Blackbird with our high speed camera. We never realized that birds put so much enthusiasm into realigning their feathers!
